Product description

For the 2021 season, Rab comes with a touring variant of its best-selling and most popular Rab Torque model. While the classic Torque are basically defined as climbing pants with a wider cut and reinforced panels against abrasion, the Torque Mountain version has a narrower cut, lacks reinforced panels and is intended more for normal hiking.

The material remains the same as the classic Torque version. It is Raba's own MatrixTM stretch fabric, which boasts high breathability, excellent durability, lightness and the ability to dry quickly. The same material is also used in the popular Borealis softshell jacket or the ultra-light Rab Talus running shorts. The fabric is treated with surface DWR treatment, so the pants can handle even 15-20 minutes of light rain.

The Torque Mountain pants offer all the elements that are necessary for normal hiking. Pocket lovers will definitely appreciate the four zippered pockets. Two on the side, one on the back and one on the right thigh. The zips are also on the bottom hem of the trousers, where they take care of widening the trousers for use with higher trekking boots. The last zipper is at the waist, where it is used for classic fastening together with two metal studs. The belt is half elastic and has six belt loops for possible greater tightening.

As we mentioned at the beginning, the biggest difference with Torque Mountains is in the cut. Compared to the classic Torque, they have a slim fit cut, which is why they are much narrower and more close to the body. You will recognize this most in the area of the thighs and calves. However, thanks to the highly stretchable MatrixTM fabric, the narrower cut is not an obstacle and the pants do not restrict movement in any way. This is also helped by the pre-shaped knees. The absence of reinforced panels in the area of the knees and on the inside of the calves also increases breathability, so you won't sweat in the pants.

All these features predetermine the Torque Mountain pants as an ideal piece for classic hiking for one-day or weekend trips or even weekly crossings, where there is no risk of mechanical abrasion against the rock. Thanks to their tighter cut and higher breathability, you can also run comfortably in them, so they will be ideal for faspacking trips in lower temperatures, when you run part of the trip and walk part, but you don't want to be in running leggings.

Long pants from Rab

Rab was founded in 1981 by Scottish climber Rab Carrington in Sheffield, UK. Carrington established the brand after returning from an expedition to Argentina's Patagonia, where he learned how to make sleeping bags. Rab was later acquired by Equip Outdoor Technologies.
