The 29” XT Trail wheels offer new UST tubeless and aluminum rims with 24mm internal widths for the durable yet light wheelset you need for your all mountain ride.
A focus on weight reduction and durability has driven the latest DEORE XT wheel development. The new DEORE XT Race (WH-M8000-TL-27.5/29) and DEORE XT Trail (WH-M8020-TL-27.5/29) high quality hand-built wheels come with tubeless-ready aluminum rims in 20mm and 24mm internal widths respectively. Each rim provides a wider platform for modern mountain bike tires while also saving 40 grams over previous models. All wheel sets use 28 butted spokes both front and rear.

TL-Tubeless Compatible Rim

Rims designed with SHIMANO Tubeless System combine a UST-profile tubeless rim bead section and dedicated sealing tape. Get the superior sealing performance of UST, plus an easy and reliable taping profile.

E-Thru Axle

The tool-less type thru-axle skewer system optimizes rigidity and weight balance and enables easy operation with a reliable internal cam mechanism and new fixing structure. The 15mm thru-axle system is 15% stiffer torsionally and 25% stiffer in transverse shear than a traditional 9mm Quick Release front axle system. High rigidity is secured while keeping the optimum weight balance. The E-THRU Axle hub system minimizes the distortion of suspension while maintaining lightweight for riding around sharp corners at high speed.
