Everything important about this cloak is already in its name. Trail Boss is at home on… well… trails! The pattern of the center tread minimizes rolling resistance for fast driving, that is, until the moment when the brake allows it to really bite. The outer protrusions then ensure traction in turns and bumps. The wide Trail Boss then comes with a more aggressive tread to match its increased volume, providing even better traction in poor conditions and in the wet. Do you want to go to your favorite singletrack and dominate it? Then be a Trail Boss. Compatible with E-bikes.

The Trail Boss is usually used as the rear tire with the WTB Vigilante up front.

New SG1 protection

SG1 features the toughest and most durable protective technology ever paired with WTB's iconic Trail Boss, Vigilante, Judge and Verdict tire designs. This technology takes the proven two-layer "Tough" variant to a whole new level.

Added puncture protection runs under the entire tread of the tire, increasing its resistance to sharp objects hidden in the terrain. With the clear goal of strengthening the most vulnerable parts of the tire, WTB introduced its new Inner Peace+ technology, which triples the amount of tire bead protection for the SG1. This improvement not only protects the bead of the tire from damage, but also significantly strengthens the sidewall structure.

TriTec mixture

TriTec uses three rubber compounds to provide different levels of traction, support and durability based on their placement in the tire. The entire pattern is supported by a very hard rubber base that extends up to half the height of the tread lugs and allows the use of softer compounds in the lugs without their deformation due to cornering forces. The top of the center lugs is made up of a medium-hard durometer compound that provides traction and durability without compromising rolling efficiency, while the outer lugs are made up of the softest compound that provides maximum grip and slow rebound.

TPI (EPI) - the density of the tire's skeleton fibres. The higher the TPI value, the more flexible the tire will be.
Kevlar tire - foot made of Kevlar fibres. The tire can be folded, so it is more practical when moving or storing. It is characterized by a lower weight compared to wire casings and a higher resistance to puncture.
Wire tire - bead made of wire. The tire is inflexible, it is heavier than Kevlar.
