Zipp + Goodyear SLICK XPLR 700x40C tire, TLR, kevlar, black/brown
The Goodyear XPLR Slick is part of a wheel and tire system specifically designed for gravel. This is a semi-slick racing tire designed for the unique Zipp 303 XPLR SW and S wheels to provide the fastest combination on smooth to medium surfaces. Its best performance is on dry land. Gravel wheel systems today are mostly slightly stiffer versions of what exists on the road: light, stiff, narrow, and aero. The problem is that riding on gravel creates harmful vibrations that slow you down and increase fatigue over time. Additionally, gravel tires generally negate the aerodynamic advantages of traditionally narrow road rims. The slick is designed to measure 40mm on a 303 XPLR wheel. The new XPLR wheel and tire system takes a completely new approach and optimizes component dimensions to achieve the fastest setup on the market. In addition to unbeatable aerodynamic advantages on gravel, the resulting rim width also allows for lower tire pressure, which helps filter out vibrations for extra energy savings. The XPLR Slick offers the most aero gravel setup with the 303 XPLR SW and W wheels and is best suited for racing on smooth gravel in the dry. Its smooth center provides fast rolling, while the texture and blocks in the corners ensure a certain level of confidence. The lightweight and flexible construction enhances ride quality. M:Wall reinforcements in the sidewalls provide puncture and pinch protection, allowing the rider to escape with the lowest possible air pressure. Finally, the tire bead size is designed to ensure a comfortable fit and secure fit on Zipp TSS rims. Only approved tires can be used on XPLR wheels.
