Pirelli Scorpion™ XC RC 29x2.4" ProWALL Team Edition TLR tire, kevlar
Pirelli SCORPION ™ XC RC ProWALL 29x2.4" Team Edition tyre
The Scorpion XC tyres are designed for everyday cross-country riding. They are suitable not only for purely racing use, where everything depends on speed and a good trail but also for relaxing, recreational trips. They consist of a SmartGRIP rubber compound with excellent grip and grip in both dry and wet conditions and LITE (lightweight, high speed) or ProWALL (increased cut/puncture protection and high speed) constructions. The Pirelli Scorpion XC RC tyre has been designed to handle the various terrains and surfaces that appear on XCO tracks: from artificially constructed technical sections to natural surfaces, from hard to soft and loose surfaces. An ideal choice for the racer who wants to reach maximum speed and can keep his bike firmly under control. Thanks to the SmartGRIP rubber compound, the tyre is characterized by a long service life and a high level of reliability.
The result is a longer service life of the riding characteristics of the tyre, which not only has excellent grip in opposing conditions such as dry and wet but also maintains these riding characteristics throughout the wear period. Unlike multi-compound compounds (two or three), the single-compound composition of SmartGRIP allows balanced riding characteristics throughout its lifetime. The greater mechanical resistance of rubber also provides greater resistance both to wear and punctures, so it is necessary to develop a greater force to cut or puncture the casing.
ProWALL
The technology is used for protective reinforcement of the sides of the tyre for greater puncture resistance and more stable performance when using low air pressures in the tire. The added layer of nylon fabric on the sidewall not only increases the resistance against cutting and punctures but also improves the overall behaviour of the tyre in turns and thus allows better control of the bike. These properties have been achieved without limiting the weight of the tyre and the efficiency of power transmission from pedalling, so tyres with this technology are ideal for use in XC racing to aggressive Trail riding when they are supplemented with a suitable frame (120tpi or 60tpi).
It is characterized by two diametrically opposed features:
• resistance to punctures: guarantees maximum mechanical adhesion and grip in dry conditions and higher puncture resistance together with a longer service life
• wet chemical adhesion: there is no need to think about changing conditions, whether it will rain or whether there will be muddy and slippery sections on the trail
OPLET technology guarantees a multi-layer nylon with a density of 120tpi for low weight and excellent rolling

PSI - indicates the pressure to which the manufacturer recommends inflating the tire. 1 atmosphere = 14.7 PSI
TPI (EPI) - the density of the shell's skeleton fibres. The higher the TPI value, the more flexible and flexible the tire will be.
Kevlar tire - foot made of Kevlar fibres. The cover can be folded, so it is more practical when moving or storing. It is characterized by a lower weight compared to wire casings and a higher resistance to puncture.
Wire tire- bead made of wire. The shell is inflexible, it is heavier than the Kevlar one.
