The Air suspension is built-in at the Big Apple Performance by Schwalbe!
The Big Apple started off the Balloonbike trend ten years ago: Comfortable cycling without using complicated technology! Air cushion tires are used as natural suspension. Inflated to around 2 Bar a Balloonbike rolls really easily and with a full suspension effect. A normal tire with a width of 37 mm must be inflated to a rock-hard 4 bar, in order to roll similarly well.

E-Bike Ready 25

Need a special tire for an E-bike?
In standard pedelecs that have motor assist up to 25 km/h, there is no legal requirement for a special tire. But even with these bikes, loads and average speeds are higher than in regular bikes, therefore we recommend only certain tires as "E-Bike Ready 25".

What should you look out for with faster E-bikes?
Special tires are necessary for fast E-bikes. The best solution is tires with ECE-R75 certification, valid throughout Europe. All our Energizer tires bear the mark and are valid on vehicles up to 50 km/h.

Some Marathon sizes have also the ECE-R75 mark. What's the difference between Energizer and Marathon?
It is in the compound. A Marathon is renowned for its extremely high mileage. The service life of the Energizer models is not bad, but the main focus is on grip and thus safety in high speed cornering.

PSI - indicates the pressure to which the manufacturer recommends inflating the tire. 1 atmosphere = 14.7 PSI
TPI (EPI) - the density of the tire's skeleton fibres. The higher the TPI value, the more flexible the tire will be.
Kevlar shell - foot made of Kevlar fibres. The tire can be folded, so it is more practical when moving or storing. It is characterized by a lower weight compared to wire casings and a higher resistance to puncture.
Wire tire- bead made of wire. The shell is inflexible, it is heavier than Kevlar.
