Pirelli Scorpion E-MTB M 27.5x2.6" HyperWALL, SmartGRIP Gravity tire, TLR, kevlar, gold
The Scorpion™ E-MTB M is Pirelli's most versatile tire specifically designed for trail and enduro e-bike use. It is designed for everyday riding on local trails and weekend racing. It provides constant performance and predictable behavior throughout its lifetime.
Properties:
- SmartGRIP Gravity rubber compound (M and S models) – softer rubber compound for a wide range of terrains. Maximum grip in any conditions.
- Braid - multi-layer nylon braid with a density of 60tpi for greater reliability and better handling.
- HyperWALL™ – innovative patented shell construction with multiple protective inserts for E-MTB specific reliability
- TUBELESS READY – tubeless use with simple assembly and durable feet.
We present the first results of Pirelli's work carried out under the supervision of DH legend Fabien Barel and in cooperation with racing downhill and enduro teams. Scorpion™ E-MTB is a series of 3 different tread patterns for different terrain conditions, from M (mixed surface), through R (universal rear tire), to S (soft and loose surface), developed to offer a complete range of performance tires for daily use on trails. The Scorpion™ E-MTB model range is designed for powerful mountain bikes with electric motor support. The tires are designed to withstand the power of modern e-bikes, whose torques are getting higher and higher. The Scorpion™ E-MTB provides grip and reliability where it's needed: the patented HyperWALL™ construction achieves the reliability of a DH (downhill) tire without excess weight, while the patented SmartGRIP Gravity rubber compound enables grip on dry and wet surfaces, such as also excellent tear resistance, thanks to the patented and sustainable chemical component called Lignin. The jacket thus has a performance that persists throughout the entire life of the jacket, even after partial wear of the sample.

HyperWALL
Innovative technology that Pirelli has brought to the world of cycling thanks to its experience and background in motorsport: a newly designed construction of the bead and sidewall of the tire, which further improves its properties - controllability using low air pressures and resistance to punctures. The key features for off-road use, especially in the most demanding disciplines such as gravity and eMTB, are the integrity of the tire bead and the stability of the sidewalls. A tread with a sophisticated rubber compound pattern relies heavily on and behavior is dependent on the stability and integrity of the bead and sidewall. Pirelli has introduced a construction where the bead and sidewall rubber insert are firmly held together by a woven material coupling, so that they behave as one piece, rather than two separate components that can move relative to each other, which is the common standard of tire constructions. The advantages of this technology in numbers (based on Pirelli's internal laboratory and practical tests): improved stability of the sole (+10%), better protection against snapping (+50%), better controllability when using low air pressures (+25%), greater durability against cutting the sides.
The HyperWALL construction is a technology designed for mountain e-bikes, as it provides additional sidewall reinforcement and better puncture resistance. The rubber insert firmly connected to the foot provides excellent protection against snapping, as well as stronger support at lower inflation pressure.
SmartGRIP Gravity
The SmartGRIP Gravity rubber compound is a race-ready choice. It is based on decades of experience and know-how in motocross, and incorporating valuable feedback from former World Cup champions.
- Softer rubber compound
- Tear resistant
- Better grip in any conditions
- Excellent stability and controllability at high speeds
- One-component rubber compound
Thanks to its long-term constant performance in various conditions, SmartGRIP Gravity is the answer for all bikers who are looking for a reliable tire for any trail, for training or racing.

PSI - indicates the pressure to which the manufacturer recommends inflating the tire. 1 atmosphere = 14.7 PSI
TPI (EPI) - the density of the tire's skeleton fibres. The higher the TPI value, the more flexible the tire will be.
Kevlar tire - foot made of Kevlar fibres. The tire can be folded, so it is more practical when moving or storing. It is characterized by a lower weight compared to wire casings and a higher resistance to puncture.
Wire tire - bead made of wire. The tire is inflexible, it is heavier than Kevlar.
