PETZL NEOX is a belay device with assisted braking intended for experienced climbers, suitable for climbing walls and rocks, for sports and performance climbing. Ideal for belaying a first-time climber, it has an integrated rotating disc that enables smooth and quick feeding of the rope to the climber when turning on expressions. The ergonomic handle allows smooth control of the climber's descent speed. It can be used with single ropes with a diameter of 8.5 to 11 mm.
Belay device with cam-assisted braking, optimized for belaying a first-time climber:
- For belaying first and second climbers by belaying from above
- Especially optimized for belaying first-time climbers, the integrated rotating disc allows the rope to be fed smoothly and quickly to the climber when turning on expressions
- Rope blocking with cam support for a more comfortable belay: when the climber falls or the system is loaded, the rope is tensioned, the disc is blocked and the cam is activated, which clamps and blocks the rope
Easy to use:
- Simple installation of the rope with a drawing engraved on the body of the device
- Passing and retrieving the rope as well as catching a fall is carried out using techniques standard for all Petzl belay devices, it is always necessary to hold the free end of the rope in the hand
- Compatible with dynamic single ropes with a diameter of 8.5 to 11 mm and optimized for diameters of 8.9 to 10.5 mm
Descent control:
- The ergonomic handle allows you to easily unblock the rope and regulate the climber's lowering speed.
- The 3:1 mechanical advantage of the handle and cam mechanism helps reduce the effort required for smooth operation

Notice:
- The belay device is intended for experienced climbers who have experience with belaying and catching falls.
- An excellent tool for experienced belayers, enabling fast and prompt rope feeding to a first-time climber when turning on expressions in difficult routes
- We do not recommend for beginner climbers, it is not a self-locking device, you must always hold the free end of the rope in your hand
- When feeding the rope to the climber, it is not necessary to hold the device in the hand and block the cam, the rotating disc does not get stuck, the feeding of the rope is smooth and fluid.
- In the case of clenching the hands while belaying and feeding the rope, you disable the locking function of the cam, and when the climber falls, there is a risk of the rope slipping freely, burning the belayer's hands and the climber falling to the ground
