Everything at hand

The main pocket has a waterproof two-way zipper that can be opened sufficiently and you can see everything clearly and immediately. The interior is bright for better orientation in the dark. At the front of the backpack there is a special pocket for avalanche equipment, if necessary you will have a shovel and a probe right at hand. Inside the main pocket there is also a clip for the water reservoir. There is a small pocket in the front for a map, compass and other navigational equipment. There is also a plastic carabiner for keys in this bag.

Simply elegant and durable

The avalanche backpack has no unnecessary straps and rubber bands, but only functional elements. ORTOVOX designers took care of a very clean look even if you are carrying ice axes, a helmet, skis or a snowboard. Although the backpack is made of soft to the touch material, the used CORDURY ® fabric is extremely tear-resistant and very light. Every detail of the backpack is well-crafted, durable materials are used, so you don't have to worry about ski edges or ice ax tips.

The avalanche backpack with the LiTRIC system consists of two parts. A backpack bag is attached to the BASE (back system) with the LiTRIC rescue system. Two strong outdoor brands, German Ortovox and Canadian Arc'teryx, joined forces and created a new rescue system for avalanche backpacks. The airbag is filled with ambient air using a fan that draws energy from a supercapacitor. LiTRIC combines the advantages of both electronic and mechanical systems. 100% made in Bavaria.

Litric is one of the lightest systems. Its total weight is 1080 g, which means first place in the electronic systems category and 3rd place. a place without technology difference. The weight therefore corresponds to one thermos with tea.

No restrictions when flying

The liter can be transported by air without the need for paperwork, unlike systems that require a can of compressed air. Supercapacitors are passive elements with energy content. According to IATA rules, passengers can take up to 15 such items for personal use on the plane, each of which must fit within the 100 Wh limit. The Li-ion battery in the LiTRIC has a capacity of 7.4 Wh.

Intuitive activation and locking

The trigger, or the activation handle, can be activated really quickly. Just turn it 180°, alternating the activation position with the locked position. It is easy to do with one hand and there is no danger of unwanted activation, e.g. while riding the cable car. In addition, it can be adjusted to 3 height positions on the strap.

To the fluffiest powder

You definitely don't have to worry, it will work even in really severe frosts. Activation is possible down to -30 °C. You can thus enjoy the most fluffy powder.

Easy to inflate, pack and lock against unwanted opening

After activation , easy inflation and packing, like a sleeping bag in a package. No folding and necessary procedure according to the instructions. The airbag compartment fuse (mechanical latch) ensures that this bag does not open unintentionally, e.g. when falling. It is a secondary fuse after the trigger. For its own 150 l airbag, the technology of two-layer material is used, which brings reduced weight and increased tear resistance. The safety key, which is part of the backpack, is used to deflate the inflated airbag and is used to unlock the system so that it can be deflated and folded quickly.

Easier fastening of the buckle and safety strap

The safety strap between the legs is designed in bright orange for a quick and clear check of proper securing before the descent. The purpose of the strap is to prevent the backpack from being pulled off the body in a moving avalanche. Thanks to the design of the safety strap, the buckle of the waist strap can be conveniently clicked, as is common with non-avalanche backpacks. The snap buckle of the loincloth thus fundamentally increases user comfort, especially when unfastening it quickly before getting on the cable car.

A supercapacitor is a capacitor with a very high electrical capacity.

Unlike a battery, which uses electrochemical reactions, a capacitor stores energy through static charge. A supercapacitor is ideal when a large output of electrical energy is required for a short period of time. This is exactly what an avalanche backpack fan needs to fill the airbag with ambient air. The LiTRIC's power source is an integrated Li-Ion battery, which you know from your mobile phone. Recharging is very easy - via the USB-C cable included in the package. Charging takes 2-3 hours. It is possible to activate the airbag twice for one charge, but after the first activation it is necessary to wait approximately 25 minutes for the supercapacitor to regenerate and the second inflation to take place without problems. On the side of the backpack, in the system location, there is a mesh window through which you can see a traffic light indicating the system's charge status (Green/Orange/Red).

Comfortable back system for all-day wear

The spine system is made of 3D pressed memory foam. The back is softer to better follow the movement of the body and not push any edge. The shoulder straps and hip belt are sewn directly onto the back system, so the weight of the full backpack is distributed evenly. The chest belt stabilizes the shoulder straps, which you will especially appreciate when skiing.

Back size "regular"

The backpack was adapted for people with an average back length of 42-50 cm - for a figure of approximately 170 to 195 cm. The length is calculated from 7. cervical vertebra to the upper part of the pelvis. The backpack is not only modified in the length of the back, but also changes in the shape of the shoulder straps and adjustment of the waist belt. The backpack thus fits perfectly and holds more firmly on the back.
