Durability, comfort and freedom of movement
The MERINO SHIELD TEC range is designed for maximum durability and comfort during demanding movements. That is why it is made of extremely durable material that has withstood more than 50,000 cycles in the Martindale test (a test that determines the resistance of the material to abrasion). In addition, the material is highly breathable and dries quickly. It is stretchy in all four directions and in combination with the thoughtful cut of the sleeves follows your every step on the rock.
Practical elements
The jacket has an athletic cut and provides maximum freedom of movement and flexibility when climbing. Technical elements such as the elastic hem of the sleeve and high elasticity predestined it for climbing. The jacket has one spacious chest pocket that can hold relatively large items such as a map, a smartphone and a snack.
It's dry
The jacket is treated with DWR, which repels moisture and dirt. The membrane-free construction and merino wool lining guarantee sufficient breathability. Reinforced zones on the shoulders, in the armpits and around the hips protect the fabric from abrasion. It is simply suitable for any alpine hike.
The highest quality Merino wool
ORTOVOX uses only the highest quality Merino wool from Tasmania. Merino wool is a material that degrades only negligibly over time and retains its functional properties for many years. Merino wool comes only from selected farms that meet the strict ORTOVOX WOOL PROMISE (OWP) standards. ORTOVOX obtains new merino wool from certified sheep farms that adhere to ethical principles of animal treatment.
These farms are regularly monitored as part of the OWP. The wool itself is 100% ecological and therefore extremely environmentally sustainable. Merino wool provides perfect comfort and a feeling of softness thanks to the thin fibers that make up fine woolen yarns. In addition, this wool perfectly regulates temperature and wicks away sweat, so you will feel comfortable in any conditions. In addition, Merino wool neutralizes odors thanks to its antibacterial effects, and it is very easy to care for.
