The entire jacket is made of a three-layer GORE-TEX ® Pro membrane. Its thickness is 80 D, which means a really robust and durable material that is used on most top models of hard shell jackets. This jacket is expected to be used in really rough conditions, so it is extremely important that you can really rely on it. One pore of the membrane is 20,000 times smaller than a water molecule, and therefore only water vapor molecules pass through. So the moisture from the sweat gets out, but the water drops don't penetrate inside. Thanks to this, the membrane is highly breathable and waterproof at the same time.
A perfectly fitting hood over the helmet
The jacket has the most perfect hood from Mountain Equipment. The Super Alpine HC Hood type has an anatomical shape, internal gel strips, the possibility of pulling, a reinforced visor and a high collar up to the nose, so it will protect you in really extreme weather. The individual segments create a perfect shape, and thanks to the silicone strips, the hood will follow you when you move your head. The drawstrings of the hood are sewn into the channels so that they don't bother you in the wind. Your field of vision will always be great.
The most perfect seams
Small details make a big difference. Mountain Equipment hardshell jackets are sewn using smooth seams. You won't see any threads on the outside of the jacket. A jacket sewn in this way will last much longer, because the seam threads do not rub against the backpack, rock and other objects. Thanks to this, the absorption of moisture into the seam threads is also prevented, making the jacket even more resistant to getting wet. In addition, all seams are taped with waterproof tapes.
The perfect shape of the sleeves from the shoulder to the wrist
Notice that the entire sleeve is made from one piece that runs from the neck to the wrist. It is completed only with small inserts that give it a perfect shape. In most jackets, you will find shoulder seams in places that are often overloaded with backpack straps. Mountain Equipment eliminated this problem and perfected the anatomical shape and functionality of the sleeves. The cuffs of the sleeves are slanted, so they fit perfectly regardless of movements and at the same time protect against snow, wind and rain much better than straight cuts.
Zips that really don't get wet
The highest model range of the renowned YKK ® brand, namely the Aquaguard ® type, is used for the pockets and the main zipper. If water should still get through the zipper, there is a GORE-TEX ® Pro fabric on the inside, after which the water flows down and continues out under the central zipper, or in the case of pockets through a small hole in the lower part of the zipper. Premyslené že? The all-over zip of the jacket is two-way and there is a patent lock at the bottom. When belaying, you unbutton the lower part of the jacket and secure it with a zipper under the belay. You will be perfectly protected, but the jacket will not hinder you when working with the rope. Why not make your stay at the stand as pleasant as possible?
Large and easily accessible pockets
A seat harness or a backpack with a buckled waist and chest belt do not prevent you from reaching your pockets. You can get into them as easily as if you were wearing nothing. Their shape, openings and location are precisely designed according to these requirements. Their large volume is designed in such a way that you can hide thick winter gloves, climbing belts, topo routes, snacks and other things that you always need at hand.
