Petzl REVERSO safety brake, red
The lightweight REVERSO is a multifunctional belay and abseiling brake, designed for sports rock climbing, multi-length climbing and alpinism. The Reverso mode enables assisted braking when retrieving one or two co-climbers from a belaying position from above. It allows the adaptation of a wide variety of rope diameters: single ropes 8.5 to 10.5 mm, half ropes 7.1 to 9.2 mm and double ropes 6.9 to 9.2 mm. The special design of the grooves for the rope allows smooth sliding and reduces the wear of the ropes.
Multipurpose and easy to use:
- classic belay technique with both hands on the rope
- the ropes pass smoothly through the brake
- can be used for roping
- Reverso mode for picking up one or two second climbers; commonly used in multi-pitch climbing
- independent and simultaneous belaying of two second climbers in the Reverso mode
- when belaying in the Reverso mode, the carabiner located in the release hole allows the breaker to release the rope that is under tension
- cable installation drawings for belay and Reverse mode shown on brake body
Adaptable to a wide range of rope diameters:
- V-shaped friction grooves allow control of braking
- compatibility with 8.5 to 10.5 mm dynamic dynamic ropes (11 mm possible, depending on rope flexibility)
- compatible with dynamic half ropes with a diameter of 7.1 to 9.2
- compatible with dynamic double ropes with a diameter of 6.9 to 9.2 mm
Durable and lightweight:
- the rounded shape of the grooves for the rope reduces wear and extends the life of the brake
- compact and light: only 57 g
