Mountain Equipment OGRE 33+ is a durable, simple and universal climbing backpack. Durability is achieved thanks to the M-series material with a thickness of up to 840D and PU coating. This stiff and durable material will safely protect the equipment in the backpack. Thanks to the functional processing with the possibility of detaching a number of components, its minimum weight is 700 g.

A mountaineering backpack must cover a wide range of activities and thus accommodate equipment for ice climbing, multi-pitch climbing, summer and winter alpinism, or multi-day mountain crossings. Therefore, when using 2 stitched Daisy Chain straps, side pull straps, external straps for skis and snowboards, the main strap, or a case for the front tips of the ice axes, the backpack has a great possibility of holding the material. When every piece of equipment has its place, it is fixed firmly, and putting it on and taking it down is quick and easy.

Ergonomic straps and comfortable back

To improve wearing comfort, light EVA foam with high density is used, which does not absorb water due to closed pores. 7 mm thick EVA foam weighing 105 g is used on the back panel, which is exceptionally flexible and provides excellent stability during torsion.
The foam on the back is placed inside the backpack in a special bag to prevent damage and to allow its removal. EVA foam with a thickness of 5 mm is used on the anatomically shaped straps, and the whole backpack is therefore comfortable to wear and will always firmly follow the movement of the body. 5mm EVA foam is also used on the removable padded waist straps, which, together with the removable chest strap, support the shoulder straps in securing the backpack in place.

Taking down the backpack and reducing the volume

The backpack can be pulled down comfortably and firmly with the help of removable straps. This will reduce the useful volume of the backpack and the material inside will not move unintentionally and throw you off balance. On the other hand, when boarding or moving to the cottage, you will appreciate the possibility of releasing the backpack and leaving the lid open.

Storage of small items in 2 pockets

Equipment such as a headlamp, an energy bar or a scarf fits comfortably in 2 accessory pockets. The pockets are located in the lid of the backpack with entrances from the outside or inside. You can use the outer pocket when closing the backpack and store valuables in the safety of the inner pocket.

Grappler - patented fastening

Thanks to the patented closing system, which uses a puller and a specially designed Grappler buckle, the backpack can be easily opened or closed, even with gloves or with one hand. The buckle can be secured in two places, either on the lid, or from the top of the back part, or in the case of attaching a rope from the outside, or when the backpack is underfilled.

Weight reduction up to 700 g

All components of the backpack can be easily unfastened: waist strap padding, chest strap, side straps, loops for ice ax heads, straps for holding ice axes and a drawstring for crampons or a helmet. In this way, the backpack will not only reduce its weight, but also prevent unwanted capture when climbing in difficult terrain. When removing the EVA foam from the back panel, the weight of the backpack is only 700 g.

Durable fabric

The fabric of the backpack is made of extremely durable, yet lightweight M-series material with PU coating and DWR protection. The resulting fabric is highly resistant to abrasion and climatic conditions.
  • The entire surface of the backpack, including the back, uses M840 material with a resistance of 840 denier, which is doubled in the most stressed base of the backpack.
  • To reduce the weight of the backpack, the lighter M210 material with a resistance of 210 denier is used on less stressed parts such as the upper part, the lid, the roll cap and the inside of the backpack.

Metal and plastic components

The components are developed with a focus on tensile strength, low weight and durability. The durable, high-pressure injection-molded aluminum used for the GRAPPLER main buckle and ax head mounts is highly weather- resistant and nearly indestructible. The other components are made of very durable thermoplastic and can withstand even the roughest handling.

Rope attachment

The rope can be attached from the top of the backpack when the main buckle is attached to the back part and the rope can be unfastened comfortably without taking the backpack off the back. Subsequent belaying with side straps holds the rope in place.

Two-year guarantee without compromise

You must always rely on the equipment. So if something is wrong, you have an uncompromising two-year warranty. If you discover a manufacturing defect, send the goods to us and we will hand them over directly to the service center in Munich, which will take care of the rest.

If you damage the equipment yourself, the service center in Munich will repair it. Just send it to us and we will take care of everything.
