Carbohydrates as an energy source are in the form of maltodextrin, which has a high glycemic index (100) and energy is therefore released from it quickly; moreover, at the same osmotic pressure, it contains many times more energy than glucose.

WHEN AND HOW TO USE THE GEL
We recommend using 2 isotonic gels per hour during exercise. Depending on the time and intensity of the effort, it is possible to consume up to 6 pieces of isotonic gel, which is the maximum recommended dose during exercise. Enervit Isotonic Gel does not need a drink.

It has a high glycemic index (100), so energy is absorbed quickly.
Absorption rate is also ensured by isotonic dilution.
Enervit Isotonic Gel thus provides many times more energy absorbed in the first 25 minutes.
Enervit Gel
The dominant carbohydrate contained is a 4-molecule polymer of glucose with a slower release than conventional glucose. The gel therefore has a lower glycemic index, and therefore energy from it is absorbed more slowly than with the Enervit Isotonic Gel (GI 100).
Slower energy absorption is also ensured by the denser consistency of the gel.
The energy is thus released gradually and longer.
