Singing rock EDGE/blade
Lightweight ice ax for mountain climbing. A compromise between a classic hiking ice ax and a modern ice weapon.
The EDGE ice ax is an intermediate step between a classic hiking ice ax and a modern ice weapon. It combines the advantages of both types: a bent shaft that creates more space for difficult climbing, and a smooth lower tip that easily penetrates the snow when belaying or easier climbs. The ideal ice ax for steep gullies and classic alpine climbing.
- the bent shape of the handle allows easier climbing in ice thicknesses or in rock and at the same time guarantees an optimal grip angle
- the forged head allows the use of a mallet or shovel and the tip can be changed, for maximum weight reduction the ax can also be used without a mallet/shovel
- the tip is aggressive enough for climbing in hard ice or lighter mix; the lower teeth do not reach the head, which saves gloves when holding the ax by the head
- the ice ax head is shaped so that it can be wedged into a crack and at the same time provides support when climbing in soft snow; the hole in the head is large enough to connect a carabiner or hang an ice ax on a PORTER
- the lower tip penetrates snow and firn well and can be connected to a carabiner or a flexible BUNGEE loop
- the ice ax is supplied with a FIX PLUS loop
