The Zone MIPS helmet is equipped with an innovative hybrid construction combining a durable and ventilated upper part (Hard Shell) with a lower In Mold shell. The MIPS zone is literally packed with technologies: a new In Form 2 clamping system with vertical adjustment, MIPS technology, adjustable ventilation, an integrated holder for a GoPro camera and a Fidlock magnetic buckle. The MIPS system offers increased protection of the brain from rotational forces.

MIPS IS MOVEMENT
All Giro helmets are designed to absorb as much energy as possible in the event of an impact and meet the applicable European standard: EN 1077. The aim of the new MIPS technology is to eliminate rotational forces acting on the head in the event of a fall and subsequent impact on the piste. When impacted at any angle, the MIPS system allows the EPS shell of the helmet to rotate independently around the head. Although this movement is only on the order of a few millimeters, we believe that MIPS technology significantly reduces the amount of rotational force that could otherwise be transmitted to the brain.
WHAT IS MIPS (multidirectional Impact Protection System) and how does it work?
MIPS is a slippery insert between the EPS shell (helmet body) and the inner linings. In the event of an angle impact, the EPS shell of the helmet rotates a few millimeters along the MIPS layer, protecting the head and brain from sharp rotational jerks.
