Giro Tenaya Spherical women's helmet, matte black/dark matter
It doesn't matter if you wake up in the morning to iron Manchester with your family or head out on your favorite ski slope - the Tor Spherical helmet is the perfect combination of protection, ventilation control and style. For the highest level of protection, the helmet is equipped with Spherical powered by MIPS technology. It works on the principle of a joint - the helmet shell consists of two hemispheres that move together like a joint. The outer shell can rotate around the inner shell in the event of an impact, reducing the forces that would otherwise act directly on the head and brain. It is such a suspension inside the helmet. Ventilation can be adjusted thanks to the Thermostat Control adjustable ventilation. You can easily adjust the size using the In Form 2 fastening system and a comfortable magnetic buckle under the chin.

MIPS IS A MOVEMENT
All Giro helmets are designed to absorb as much energy as possible during impact and meet the applicable European standard: EN 1077. The goal of the new MIPS technology is to eliminate rotational forces that act on the head in the event of a fall and subsequent impact on the slope. In an impact at any angle, the MIPS system allows the EPS shell of the helmet to rotate independently around the head. Although this movement is only on the order of a few millimeters, we believe that MIPS technology significantly reduces the amount of rotational force that would otherwise be transmitted to the brain.
WHAT IS MIPS (Multidirectional Impact Protection System) AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
MIPS is a slippery insert between the EPS shell (helmet body) and the inner linings. In the event of an impact at an angle, the EPS shell of the helmet rotates a few millimeters after the MIPS layer, protecting the head and brain from a violent rotational jerk.
