Fenix HM71R rechrgeable headlamp, black
Fenix HM71R rechargeable headlamp
The Fenix HM71R is a high-performance rechargeable headlamp that offers a luminous flux of up to 2700 lumens (ANSI). The headlamp is equipped with two light sources. An LED Luminus SFT-70 in the distance reflector, which illuminates the distance of up to 230 meters. The second, wide reflector is equipped with a Luminus SST-20 LED with neutral white light and a high CRI 90 (Colour Rendering Index) quality index of 500 lumens, which has a very wide and smooth light footprint. It is powered by one rechargeable Li-ion battery type 21700 with a capacity of 5000 mAh, which is charged directly in the headlamp via the USB-C connector. The control button has a built-in indicator LED, thanks to which you will always know when the battery needs to be recharged. The ending of the lamp is magnetic, so it can be easily attached to anything made of iron. The lamp is powered by a digitally regulated constant current to guarantee a constant light output even when the voltage in the batteries is reduced (while they are gradually discharging).The all-metal construction ensures high resistance, optimal cooling, and at the same time it is fully waterproof according to the IP68 standard up to a depth of 2 meters underwater. Durability is enhanced by a protective cap around the reflectors made of stainless steel. The practicality of the headlamp increases the possibility of removing the light from the head holder and using it also as a pocket or work lamp. In addition, the headlamp is equipped with a removable steel clip, so you can easily attach it to a pocket or strap. The multifunctional Fenix HM71R lamp will be appreciated by speleologists, mountain guides, ski mountaineers, climbers, cyclists, rescuers, mountain service, but also, for example, repairmen and workers in industries, as well as tourists or fishermen.
All lamp parameters (luminous flux, battery operation time, waterproofing, range and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.
It is possible to purchase a set of black straps AFH-02 without reflective elements. Suitable, for example, for hunting, the army, or the police.
The headlamp can also be purchased with USB adapters for the outlet or car, a Fenix APB-30 case, twofish bikeblock holders, lockblocks or a holder for attaching to bicycle handlebars. For easy attachment to the helmet, it is possible to purchase the Fenix ALG-03 adhesive holder or the Fenix ALG-04 NVG mount holder.
Parameters of the Fenix HM71R rechargeable headlamp
- Premium powerful LED Luminus SFT-70 with daytime light shade (approx. 6000 K) and LED Luminus SST-20 with CRI 90 and neutral shade (approx. 4000 K) are used, both with a lifespan of 50,000 hours.
- Remote reflector: 2700 lumens (3 hours) -> 800 lumens (5 hours) -> 200 lumens (16 hours) -> 50 lumens (48 hours).
- Wide reflector: 500 lumens (8 hours) -> 200 lumens (16 hours) -> 50 lumens (48 hours) -> 5 lumens (400 hours).
- Luminous flux and duration times are measured with the included Li-ion battery 21700 with a capacity of 5000 mAh.
Use
There may be an insulating cap inside the lamp on the battery when you first take it out of the box. Before first use, remove it from the battery.- When the headlamp is turned off, it will turn on the last used high beam mode by holding the button for 0.5 seconds (except when it turns off in the highest mode, then it will turn on in the second-highest mode next time).
- When the headlamp is turned off, it turns on to the lowest mode (5 lumens) of the wide reflector by pressing the button twice quickly.
- The headlamp is turned off by holding down the button for 0.5 seconds.
- When the headlamp is on, it is possible to switch between the long and wide reflector by holding down the button for 1.2 seconds. It is not possible to start both reflectors at the same time.
Battery charge status indication: After a short press of the button (headlight must be switched off), the LED indicator in the button is activated. If the indicator light is green, the battery is more than 80% full. Green flashing means 50-80% capacity. If it lights up red, it is at 20-50%. Red flashing means that less than 20% of the battery capacity remains.
Locking the headlamp against unwanted activation: Loosen the battery cap of the headlamp by a quarter turn, this will break the electrical contact and the headlamp cannot be switched on. The button can also be locked electronically - with the headlamp off, hold the button down for 3 seconds. After locking, the lamp flashes four times. To unlock, hold the button for 3 seconds again.
Overheating protection: If the temperature of the headlamp exceeds 65 °C, it will automatically reduce power in gradual steps until the temperature stabilizes. As soon as the temperature drops below 65 °C, it is possible to use the highest performance modes again.
Low battery warning: If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the headlamp automatically switches to lower power modes. If the headlamp is already switched to the lowest power mode and the battery is critically discharged, the indicator in the button will start flashing red. However, the headlamp will continue to shine until the battery is completely discharged.
Charging
Plug the charging cable into the USB connector of the computer, the USB outlet adapter or the USB car adapter. Unfold the rubber cap on the headlamp and plug the cable into the charging USB-C port. During charging, the light in the button lights up red, when charging is complete, it lights up green. The headlamp can be used in the lowest high beam mode while charging, but the charging time will be adequately extended. Charging a fully discharged Fenix ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 battery takes approximately 4 hours (using a 5V/2A source).Warning
- Do not disassemble the sealed part in the lamp head yourself, this will void the warranty.
- If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after a long period of use, replace them. The rings must also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these rules, the lamp will be properly protected against water.
- If the light flickers, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not light up, it may be for one of the following reasons:
- The battery is almost empty - charge it or replace it.
- The contacts inside the lamp are dirty - clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
- The back part of the lamp is loose - tighten it.
The long-distance reflector creates a light cone with reach of 230 meters (13300 cd), the wide reflector shines up to a distance of 47 meters (555 cd)
