Mountain Equipment Saltoro Short pants, black
By combining the two materials GORE-TEX® 75D and GORE-TEX® PACLITE®, the developers of the Mountain Equipment brand created very light, comfortable and sufficiently durable pants for all-day wear in demanding mountain conditions. The cut of the trousers is adapted to the requirements for comfortable and long walking. You can easily put them on even over trekking shoes with the help of ¾ side zippers that run from the bottom edge of the pants to the middle of the thighs.
● 2.5-layer GORE-TEX® PACLITE® 40D.
● 3-layer GORE-TEX® 75D on knees and butt.
● Active Fit – Comfortable cut, pre-shaped knees.
● Elastic waist with the option of tightening with a rubber band.
● ¾ two-way YKK® WR side zippers with inner placket.
● Adjustable bottom hem with Velcro.
Hybrid GORE-TEX® construction of durable yet light trousers
The goal was to sew light but at the same time very durable pants for the mountains, which will not only serve as a backup piece of clothing for rainy weather. SALTORO PANT are very durable and practical hardshell pants. A durable three-layer GORE-TEX® 75 D membrane is used for the most stressed areas.
The remaining part of the pants is made of a 2.5-layer GORE-TEX® PACLITE® membrane, where excessive load is not expected. The inner side of the PACLITE® membrane is coated with a special protective layer that contains oleophobic substances and carbon fibers. This type does not require a lining and GORE-TEX® PACLITE® products are significantly lighter and very packable. The GORE-TEX® membrane is of the porous type. One such pore is twenty thousand times smaller than a water molecule and therefore only allows water vapor molecules to pass through. So the sweat vapor gets out, but the water drops don't get inside. Thanks to this, the membrane is highly breathable and waterproof at the same time.
The most perfect seams
Small details make a big difference. Mountain Equipment hardshell pants are sewn using smooth seams. You won't see any threads on the outside of the pants. Pants sewn in this way last much longer, because the seam threads do not rub against rocks and other objects on the outside. Thanks to this, the absorption of moisture into the seam threads is also prevented, making the trousers even more resistant to getting wet. In addition, all seams are taped with waterproof tapes.
Even this sophisticated method of production is a guarantee for you that Mountain Equipment will really suffer from the quality and refinement of the products.
Cut for active movement
Thanks to the Active Fit cut, you will have the feeling that they are tailor-made for you. They have a narrower cut, so you won't be restricted by any excess fabric when walking. You will appreciate this, for example, on the ridge if it is very windy. Your body will create less resistance and it will be easier for you to go against the wind.
Two-way waterproof YKK® zipper for clothing and shoes
The legs of the trousers have a ¾-length opening on the outer sides with a two-way YKK® WR zipper. This is a high-quality zipper with a waterproof finish from the renowned YKK® zipper manufacturer. Thanks to this gadget, you won't have a problem wearing the pants easily even over big trekking shoes for a while.
