Mountain Equipment Saltoro Women's Jacket | Skyglow/Cosmos

By combining two materials GORE-TEX ® 75D and GORE-TEX ® PACLITE ® Mountain Equipment has created a jacket that is very light, comfortable and durable enough to be worn all day in demanding mountain conditions even with a heavy backpack on your back. With the Alpine Fit cut, you will have no problem layering your clothes sufficiently in cold conditions.

  • 2 large pockets with YKK ® WR zippers.
  • Two-way YKK ® Aquaguard ® central zipper.
  • YKK ® WR zippers in the armpits for ventilation.
  • Tapered sleeve ends with velcro fastening.
  • Adjusting the circumference of the lower hem with a string.
  • Separate cord for pulling the front and back parts, so that there is no danger of getting caught in the carabiner when you attach it to the material eye of the seat harness.

Hybrid GORE-TEX ® construction - durable yet light jacket

The goal was to sew a light but at the same time very durable jacket for the mountains, which will not only serve as a backup piece of clothing for rainy weather. SALTORO JACKET is a very durable and practical hardshell jacket. Parts in the area of ​​the shoulders and the hood are made of a durable GORE-TEX ® membrane with a thickness of 75 D, which is a guarantee of long life. Despite the fact that the jacket looks very soft, you don't have to be afraid to use it even in difficult conditions.
 

The remaining parts of the jacket are made of GORE-TEX ® PACLITE ® membrane, where excessive load is not expected. The inner side of the PACLITE ® membrane is coated with a special protective layer that contains oleophobic substances and carbon fibers. This type does not require a lining and GORE-TEX ® PACLITE ® products are significantly lighter and packable very well. The GORE-TEX ® membrane is of the porous type. One such pore is twenty thousand times smaller than a water molecule and therefore only allows water vapor molecules to pass through. So the sweat vapor gets out, but the water drops don't get inside. Thanks to this, the membrane is highly breathable and waterproof at the same time.

With the SALTORO JACKET, you can be 100% sure that you are getting perfect protection and a long service life.

Helmet hood and two large pockets

There are situations when it is impossible to do without a hood. Especially when it's windy or raining. The hardshell jacket SALTORO JACKET has a Mountain HC Hood type hood, which is compatible with a climbing helmet. It is equipped with a reinforced peak and the hood can be adjusted so that it fits perfectly even without a helmet. The drawstrings of the hood are sewn into the channels so that they don't bother you in the wind.

You will also appreciate two large pockets with waterproof YKK ® zippers, which can easily fit gloves, a camera, snacks or anything you want to have immediately at hand.

The perfect shape of the sleeves from the shoulder to the wrist

The sleeves of the SALTORO JACKET are made of one piece with inserts placed so that the sleeve is natural in every position and does not restrict you in any movement. The cuffs of the sleeves are slanted, so they fit perfectly regardless of movements and at the same time protect against snow, wind and rain much better than straight cuts.

The most perfect seams

Small details make a big difference. Mountain Equipment hardshell jackets are sewn using smooth seams. You won't see any threads on the outside of the jacket. A jacket sewn in this way lasts much longer, because the seam threads do not rub against backpacks, rocks and other objects. Thanks to this, the absorption of moisture into the seam threads is also prevented, making the jacket even more resistant to getting wet. In addition, all seams are taped with waterproof tapes.

Even this sophisticated method of production is a guarantee for you that Mountain Equipment will really suffer from the quality and refinement of the products.

Waterproof YKK ® zippers

The SALTORO JACKET is fastened with a YKK ® Aquaguard ® two-way zipper. This is the highest model range of this renowned zipper manufacturer. Two pockets and underarm ventilation are equipped with YKK ® WR zippers. Despite the fact that these are waterproof zippers, make sure that you don't leave things in your pockets that can't stand moisture in heavy rain. For example, a mobile phone.
