Omega 3 fatty acids are compounds commonly found in fatty fish, two of which are important in supplementing fish oil into your daily diet: EPA and DHA, which are the building blocks of immune cells, act as mediators of inflammation and promote cardiovascular health, which it makes them a great addition to general well-being as well as performance goals. The inclusion of a daily dose of Omega 3 may support normal immune function as well as brain, eye and heart health, while studies have shown that taking SiS Super Strength Omega 3 capsules can lead to anaerobic endurance capacity and reduced post-exercise muscle pain.
-EPA and DHA are the building blocks of immune cells and act as precursors of inflammatory mediators: prostaglandins and leukotrienes
-EPA and DHA have beneficial effects on cholesterol by increasing high density lipoproteins (HDL), which play an important role in the transport of cholesterol to the liver to be excreted from the body
-Reduction of muscle pain - omega 3 supplementation is associated with a reduction in the delayed onset of muscle pain after exercise damaging eccentric muscles. With reported less perceived pain and decreased thigh circumference, this 48-hour reduction in thigh circumference after exercise may indicate a reduction in muscle swelling and inflammation.
-Increasing anaerobic endurance capacity - In the group of competitive footballers, an increase in anaerobic endurance capacity was found through the increased distance covered in the Yo-Yo test (high-intensity running protocol) when supplemented with omega 3 fatty acids compared to placebo
-Higher muscle oxygen consumption - increased nitric oxide production was associated with higher muscle oxygen intake and an increase in VO2 max was observed in a group of cyclists with endurance training who supplemented with omega 3
