The Oakley ARO5 Race MIPS helmet has a lightweight aerodynamic design for increased speed. It has a BOA adjustment system and MIPS brain protection, which guarantee maximum safety and comfort. In addition, it has a forehead insert that absorbs moisture, which increases wearing comfort, especially at elevated body temperature. It was also made with integrated glasses for safe storage and quick and easy access.

Boa Closure System: Boa closure fixes and maintains pressure, is quick to control and easy to release.
MIPS System: The leading flat displacement technology in the helmet, designed to reduce rotational forces that can result from certain impacts. When the head rotates rapidly and stops suddenly, the acceleration of the rotation can cause high levels of stress on brain tissue. The tissue stretching caused by these movements can lead to several types of brain injuries. We believe that helmets equipped with MIPS technology can add a higher level of protection against certain types of impacts. MIPS uses a flat displacement system that moves inside the helmet and mimics the brain protection system itself. This layer is designed to rotate within the helmet to potentially slow down or reduce the amount of energy transferred to or from the head. Science tells us that if we can reduce the stress associated with rotational acceleration, we could reduce the risk and severity of brain damage.
