The Limar AIR PRO helmet boasts an extremely innovative manufacturing process in which carbon fiber - thanks to its high mechanical resistance and low weight - becomes the heart of the helmet. This increases the safety of the helmet without reducing its weight.
CARBONCORETECH: 3K carbon bonded internally to EPS provides the core with superior durability and is the main element of the Air Pro helmet.
Two structural wings connect to the side ribs of the shell to create a high-performance cage.
Previously used as a surface treatment, now 3K carbon, together with EPS, is formed in 5 layers, not as a simple foil (only one or maximum two layers).
This is the same process used to build bicycle frames.
In this way, it acquires exceptional mechanical resistance, which allows the use of the thinnest thickness.
Carbon now becomes the soul of the helmet, acting together with expanded polystyrene to create a high-performance cage in terms of safety and allowing for the optimization of the ventilation of the rider's head and the aerodynamics of the airflow around the helmet.
AERODYNAMICS: The pyramidal surface of the longitudinal ribs reduces impact pressure as it cuts through the air and allows for smooth gliding.
Very thin carbon wings allow for easy intake and better air circulation.
Extended tail prevents turbulence: Mathematical simulation CFD data integrated with wind tunnel tests demonstrate a 20% increase in aerodynamic efficiency compared to the LIMAR Ultralight+ model, as demonstrated by several tests achieved on velodromes/wind tunnels (real-world tests with Astana riders).
MIPS Air MIPS Air is a brain protection system made up of a low-friction layer that allows sliding movement of 10 to 15 mm in all directions, reducing rotational movement of the brain during an impact.
Limar chose the revolutionary and innovative Mips Air solution, which is much lighter and better ventilated than the conventional solution.
This was achieved by integrating the Mips brain protection system and LIMAR comfort padding, resulting in increased comfort, fit and great airflow inside the helmet.
