The Synthe is the absolute pinnacle of racing helmet development. It combines the efficiency of the aerodynamic design of the Air Attack helmet with the light weight and ventilation quality of the Aeon model. The compact shape and low profile easily cuts through the air stream, whether it blows from any direction. The Roc Loc Air fastening system offers a superior fit on the head and promotes ventilation. Side aero panels and a sunglasses port are the icing on the cake. The MIPS version of the Synthe helmet is used by road Pro-Tour stables BMC and Katusha.

MIPS IS A MOVEMENT
Progress in the development of cycling helmets. All Giro helmets are designed to absorb as much energy as possible during an impact and meet the applicable European standard: EN 1077. The goal of the new MIPS technology is to eliminate the rotational forces that act on the head in the event of a fall and subsequent impact on the slope. In an impact at any angle, the MIPS system allows the EPS shell of the helmet to rotate independently around the head. Although this movement is only on the order of a few millimeters, we believe that MIPS technology significantly reduces the amount of rotational force that would otherwise be transmitted to the brain.
WHAT IS MIPS (multidirectional Impact Protection System) and how does it work?
MIPS is a slippery insert between the EPS shell (helmet body) and the inner linings. In the event of an impact at an angle, the EPS shell of the helmet rotates a few millimeters after the MIPS layer, protecting the head and brain from a violent rotational jerk.
