An important element of the Insurgent helmet is the advanced Spherical Technology Powered by Mips protection system. This unique system, which the Giro brand developed in cooperation with Mips, works on the principle of a joint - the helmet consists of two parts (hemispheres) that are connected by elastomers and slide over each other just like the joint. This allows the outer layer to rotate around the inner layer in the event of an impact, reducing forces that would otherwise act directly on the brain. This design solution completely replaces the classic plastic Mips insert used by Mips helmets without Spherical technology.

Giro Insurgent Spherical helmet
The new Insurgent Spherical integral helmet provides the high level of protection required by the top Enduro World Series (EWS) or Red Bull Rampage riders. When developing this helmet, Giro's team of designers and engineers focused not only on protection, but also on the best possible ventilation (50% better than the previous Disciple Mips model) and did not forget to remove sweat from the forehead. Two sets of cheek pads with different thickness allow you to adjust the helmet so that it fits perfectly. They are secured by means of a snap system, which in the event of an accident enables easy and head and neck-friendly removal. The adjustable label is fixed with three screws (on the sides and in the middle) and no tools are needed to change its position. The screws are made of plastic, so that for safety reasons, they break off easily in the event of an impact and the label flies off (remaining screws are removed with an Allen key)

The action camera is mounted on the underside of the tag, which will be stable even when driving with the camera mounted thanks to the central handle (for installing the camera, there is a fixed position for attaching the tag)

Progressive Layering technology , which consists of two different hardnesses of the outer and inner layer . While the outer layer made of EPS foam is harder and is thus ready to absorb impacts at high speed, the inner layer of EPP foam is softer and has reflective properties to absorb impacts as much as possible at lower speeds.
