The rechargeable Fenix HM75R headlamp has two light cones with an output of up to 1600 lumens and a strong red light with an output of up to 120 lumens. The long-distance reflector with the top LED Luminus SST-40 creates a well-focused light beam with an afterglow of up to 223 meters, and the second reflector with powerful LED Luminus SST-20 has a very wide and continuous light trail with an afterglow of up to 60 meters. The luminous flux of the remote reflector is up to 1600 lumens, the reflector with a wide cone offers a maximum output of 1000 lumens and a neutral shade of light. The light from both reflectors cannot be combined, it is easily switched between them with the rotary switch on the side of the headlamp.

The headlamp is powered by a rechargeable Li-ion battery 18650 3400 mAh, which is located inside the headlamp. In addition, it has a removable rear battery case with a 21700 5000 mAh battery for a significant extension of the lighting time. The rear battery case can also function as a separate power bank for charging any USB devices, it is connected to the headlamp with a USB-C cable, which is equipped with anti-tear locks. Using the HM75R headlamp

The batteries may have an insulating cap from the factory. Remove it before first use.
The headlamp is turned on and off with a rotary switch on the right side. In the first position, the headlamp is turned off, turning it to the second position turns it on to the long-distance reflector mode, turning it to the third position turns it on to the wide reflector mode, and turning it to the fourth position turns on the red reflector. Power modes in individual positions are cyclically switched by pressing the button on the side of the rotary switch.

Memory of the last set power mode - The headlamp has a memory and will always turn on in the last set power mode of the selected reflector, except for the highest modes of the long and wide reflector, instead it will turn on in the second highest mode of the given reflector.

Locking the supplied USB-C cable in the connectors - The package includes a USB-C cable for connecting the headlamp and the battery case. The cable is equipped with locks at both ends, which prevent it from being accidentally pulled out of the headlamp or battery case. To lock the cable, plug the USB-C cable into the connector in the headlamp and battery case and turn the ends of the cable clockwise. To unlock the cable, turn the terminals counterclockwise and disconnect it.

Intelligent power reduction - The headlamp has a built-in protection circuit. When the reflector gets closer to the illuminated object (less than 60mm) for more than 1.5s, it will automatically reduce the power to low mode to prevent the object from being damaged by strong light and glare from reflected light. When the reflector is away from the illuminated object for more than 0.8 s, the headlamp automatically restores the previously used power level. Turn on/off the smart proximity sensor - With the headlamp off, press the side button for 6 seconds. Turning on the function is indicated by the headlamp with two flashes in low mode. Deactivation of the headlamp function is indicated by eight flashes in low mode.

Intelligent protection against overheating - A large amount of heat accumulates during long-term use of the headlamp at high power modes. When the headlamp reaches a temperature of 60°C or higher, it will automatically reduce the output by a few lumens to lower the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60 °C, the performance gradually increases again.

Headlamp low battery warning - If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the headlamp will automatically switch to a lower mode until it reaches the lowest power mode. When the lowest power is reached, the battery level indicator will flash to remind you to recharge or replace the battery.

Charging and powerbank function

Charging the headlamp - Unfold the dust cover and plug the USB-C charging cable into the charging port of the headlamp. Put the dust cap back on after charging is complete. During the charging process, the four indicators on the upper side of the headlamp gradually light up and flash. Four solid lights indicate charging is complete. Normal charging time is 4 hours with a 5 V/2.5 A USB source for a fully discharged headlamp.
Note: While charging with a 9V USB source, the headlamp can be used in all modes. The maximum output of the long reflector will be limited to 1200 lumens and the wide reflector to 700 lumens. While charging with a 5V USB source, the headlamp can only be used in the two lowest modes of any reflector. The headlamp will flash several times when first switched on after connecting the USB source, thus indicating the charging voltage used. Two flashes indicate 5V charging and four flashes indicate 9V charging. When powered from a USB source, the headlamp can also be used without a battery inside. Only charge original Fenix ARB-L18 batteries in the headlamp.

Charging the rear battery case - Unfold the dust cover and plug the USB-C charging cable into the charging port of the case. Put the dust cap back on after charging is complete. During charging, the indicator in the button on the battery case lights up red. It lights up green when fully charged.

Power bank function of the back battery case - Unfold the dust cover and plug the USB-C charging cable into the charging port of the case. One press of the button on the battery case turns on the power bank function. If the power bank is on, press the button to turn it off again. After replacing the battery in the battery case, the power bank function will turn on automatically if it is connected to the headlamp. The powerbank supports the following fast charging protocols: PD3.0/PD2.0, QC3.0/QC2.0, FCP, SFCP, PE2.0/PE1.1

Power bank low load detection function* - When the power bank function on the back battery case is on, hold the button on the case for 3 seconds. The activation of the low load detection function is indicated by three red flashes of the indicator LED in the button. Deactivation of the function is indicated by eight red flashes. This function is intended for charging USB devices with very low consumption, such as fitness trackers and wireless headphones. With low load detection enabled, the power bank will automatically stop discharging when the headlamp is fully charged. To restart the powerbank function, plug the USB-C cable into it again, or press the button on the battery case. With the low load detection function off, turn off the power bank function by pressing the button when the headlamp is fully charged to avoid unnecessary discharge of the battery in the back battery case.

Battery status indication when the power bank is switched on - If the battery is sufficiently charged, the button on the case flashes green, if the battery voltage drops below 3.2 V, the button flashes red. The power bank function will automatically turn off when the battery voltage drops below 3.0 V.

Indication of the battery charge status in the headlamp - After a short press of any button (the headlamp must be switched off), the LED indicator of the battery charge status on the upper side of the headlamp is activated. Four lit LEDs mean the battery is 80-100% charged, three lit 60-80%, two lit 40-60%, one 20-40% and one flashing means the battery is less than 20% charged.

Indication of the state of charge of the battery in the battery case - If the rear battery case is not connected by a cable to a headlamp or other USB device, it is possible to check the state of charge of the battery in the case by pressing a button. If the indicator diode lights up green after pressing the button, the battery is charged to more than 85%. Green flashing means 50-85% capacity. If it lights up red, it is charged at 25-50%. Blinking red means less than 25% of battery capacity remains.

Battery replacement - Unscrew the headlamp cap and insert the battery with the positive pole facing the headlamp. Then fully tighten the headlamp cap again. When replacing the battery in the rear battery case, insert the battery with the positive pole facing outwards. If the headlamp or battery case lids are not fully tightened, they will not function properly.

Warning

  • Do not disassemble the sealed parts yourself, this will void the warranty.
  • Use only high-quality Li-ion batteries for power supply.
  • If the headlamp flashes, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not light up, it may be for one of the following reasons:
    • The batteries are almost empty - replace them or charge the accumulator.
    • The contacts in the battery case are dirty - clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
