Fenix HL18R rechargeable headlamp, black
Fenix HL18R rechargeable headlamp
The compact rechargeable Fenix HL18R headlamp delivers a luminous flux of up to 400 lumens (ANSI) and an afterglow of up to 100 meters. Power is provided by a replaceable lithium-polymer battery with a capacity of 1300 mAh, which is charged via a micro-USB connector directly in the headlamp. The light source is a modern LED Cree XP-G3 with a warmer shade of light, which is located in the main reflector. Additional lighting is provided by two white Everlight 2835 LEDs, which create a wide and very smooth cone of light.A total of 7 power modes are available, including an SOS flash mode for emergency situations. The headlamp is also equipped with the function of extending the endurance. During prolonged use in 400, 130, 70 and 30 lumen modes, the headlamp gradually reduces power in small steps to achieve a longer lighting time.
All parameters of the headlamp (luminous flux, operating time on batteries, waterproofing, afterglow and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.
The Fenix APB-20 case, a USB power adapter and a USB car adapter can be purchased for the headlamp.
Fenix HL18R headlamp parameters
Main reflector modes:- Li-pol battery 1300 mAh: 400 lm (8.5 h) -> 130 lm (12.5 h) -> 70 lm (17.5 h) -> 30 lm (48 h)
- 3x AAA batteries: 400 lm (9 h) -> 130 lm (14 h) -> 70 lm (22 h) -> 30 lm (48 h)
- Li-pol battery 1300 mAh: 30 lm (54 h) -> 4 lm (145 h) -> SOS flashing 30 lm (72 h)
- 3x AAA batteries: 30 lm (56 h) -> 4 lm (150 h) -> SOS flashing 30 lm (80 h)
The use
The main reflector is turned on and off by pressing the right button for 0.5 seconds, the additional LEDs are turned on and off by holding the left button. The headlamp always turns on in the lowest mode, you can switch to other levels of power at any time during operation by briefly pressing the corresponding button. The main reflector and additional LEDs cannot be activated at the same time.Battery charge status indication - after a short press of the left button (headlight must be switched off), the LED battery charge status indicator on the bottom of the headlamp is activated. Four lit LEDs mean that the battery is more than 80% charged, three lit 60-80%, two lit 40-60%, one 20-40% and one flashing means the battery is less than 20% charged.
The control buttons can be locked to prevent spontaneous activation, e.g. when transporting in luggage - hold both buttons pressed for 3 seconds. To unlock, hold both buttons again for 3 seconds.
Protection against overheating - During prolonged operation in turbo mode, the headlamp will gradually reduce power to prevent overheating.
Charging
- Unfold the rubber cover of the micro USB connector on the bottom of the headlamp and use the included USB cable to connect it to a computer, power bank, network USB adapter or USB car adapter. Any mobile phone charger with a micro USB connector can also be used for charging.
- During charging, the four indicator diodes on the bottom gradually light up, after full charge they all light up permanently.
- The charging time of a fully discharged battery takes approx. 2.5 hours.
- The used battery does not suffer from a memory effect, so the headlamp can be recharged at any time.
- Carefully seal the USB connector cap after each charge.
- During charging, the headlamp can be turned on, but only in the lowest mode.
Warning
- Do not disassemble the sealed parts yourself, this will void the warranty.
- Never use different discharged AAA batteries or batteries with different capacities.
- Always carefully check that you insert the batteries into the headlamp with the correct polarity.
- If the headlamp flashes, does not switch to higher power modes or does not light up, it may be for one of the following reasons:
- The battery is almost empty - charge it.
