Fenix BC22R rechargeable headlamp
The powerful rechargeable
Fenix BC22R bicycle light brings a luminous flux of up to
1400 lumens (ANSI) with
a glow of up to 156 meters. The lamp uses
specially shaped optics that direct the light only forwards and sideways, not upwards.
The light cone is therefore partially cut from above and
does not dazzle other drivers and pedestrians. At the same time, the optics used create a very wide light cone, which continuously illuminates the entire space in front of the bicycle, so it shines even in places that ordinary bicycle lights cannot cover. The Fenix BC22R bicycle light is therefore suitable not only for use on roads and cycle paths, but also perfectly handles lighting on trails. The design of the holder allows quick assembly and disassembly of the light on the handlebars without the use of tools, the lamp can also be quickly removed from the holder and used as a high-performance hand light.
The unique design allows the lamp to be hung upside down (above and below the handlebars), when the light cone remains cut from above and you can still see the control and indication on the lamp. The package also includes a reduction for GoPro mounting. Fenix bike lights will provide you with quality lighting for night training, regular commuting to work and endurance races.
All lamp parameters (luminous flux, battery operation time, waterproofing and afterglow) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.
Using a bicycle light
From the factory, there may be
an insulating cap inside the lamp on the battery. Before first use,
remove it from the battery.
To
turn on or off, hold the side button for about 0.5 seconds. The lamp always turns on in the last set mode (except for flashing), you can switch to other power levels at any time during operation by pressing the button. To switch to flashing mode, hold the button for 1.2 seconds with the light on.
Battery capacity indication - with the lamp off, briefly press the button once, then the indicator LED in the button lights up for three seconds. Green lighting or flashing means the battery is more than 50% charged, red lighting or flashing means 50% or less.
The indicator LED also lights up when the light is on, so the user is constantly informed about the state of the battery while driving.
Warning about a discharged battery - if the capacity of the battery falls below a safe level, the lamp will automatically switch to lower power modes to ensure the longest possible endurance (the lamp cannot then be switched to higher modes). If the battery is critically discharged, the button starts flashing red. In this case, we recommend charging the lamp as soon as possible, so that the protection electronics built into the battery do not turn off and thus the light goes out.
Intelligent protection against overheating - A large amount of heat can accumulate during long-term use of the lamp at high power modes. When the lamp reaches a temperature of 60°C or higher, it will automatically reduce the output by a few lumens to lower the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60 °C, the performance gradually increases again.
Parameters of the Fenix BC22R bicycle light
- A total of five power modes: 1400 lumens (2.3 hours*) -> 600 lumens (5.5 hours) -> 200 lumens (11 hours) -> 50 lumens ( 41 hours ) -> flashing (pulsing between 50 and 200 lumens).
- The lamp can be purchased with a USB adapter for the mains and a USB adapter for the car or a USB adapter supporting fast charging.
* Long-term use of the highest power may cause the lamp to heat up and activate the intelligent overheating protection function, which will automatically reduce the power.
Charging
- Unfold the rubber cover of the USB-C connector on the bottom of the lamp and use the included USB cable to connect it to a computer, power bank, network USB adapter or USB car adapter.
- While charging, the button lights up red, after full charge it lights up green.
- The charging time is about 3 hours, depending on the power of the adapter used. The Li-ion battery does not suffer from a memory effect, so the lamp can be recharged at any time.
- During charging, the lamp can be used in an emergency, but only in two modes of 50 and 200 lumens. This will increase the charging time.
- After charging and removing the power cable, be sure to seal the USB-C connector cover.
Warning
- Do not disassemble the sealed parts in the lamp head yourself, this will void the warranty.
- If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after a long period of use, replace them. The rings must also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these rules, the lamp will be properly protected against water.
- If the lamp flashes, does not switch to higher modes, or does not light up, it may be for one of the following reasons:
- The battery is almost empty, charge it or replace it.
- The contacts inside the lamp are dirty - clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
- The battery cap is loose, tighten it.
