Fenix RCR123A 800 mAh USB-C Li-ion rechargeable battery
Fenix ARB-L16-800UP is a rechargeable Li-ion battery of size RCR123A (16340) with a capacity of 800 mAh and its own charging USB-C connector. It can be charged by connecting the cable to the USB-C connector (e.g. from a computer or mobile phone charger), but also in a classic charger and also in charging lights and headlamps. It is adapted for high discharge current. It is therefore particularly suitable for devices with a larger current draw, e.g. Fenix E16 and E18R lamps. Li-ion technology provides one of the best ratios of the amount of stored energy to the weight of the cell. The batteries have no memory effect and self-discharge is minimal.
Battery protection can be divided into two areas. In the first, electronic circuits are added, which prevent the cell from being overcharged (a situation where there is a risk of explosion with classic li-ion batteries) or, on the contrary, from discharging too much (the battery would then not be able to be recharged). In addition, these circuits protect the battery against a short circuit or high current consumption, which could damage the battery. If the battery electronics evaluates reaching the limit values, it disconnects the cell. The second area is protection against overheating (PTC thermal protection) and a special anti-explosion valve. Unlike other valves used in li-ion batteries, this one, when the gas pressure in the cell exceeds a certain limit, separates the electrodes inside the battery and thus de-facto interrupts the exothermic reaction and releases the overpressure of gas outside the battery. Thanks to the combination of electronic and mechanical (temperature and pressure) protection, Fenix batteries are among the safest li-ion batteries available.
The size of the RCR123 accumulator corresponds to the disposable lithium CR123A battery, which is why it is often used in lights as a rechargeable alternative to these disposable cells. Check in advance whether your appliance supports this article, as it has a higher nominal voltage than a disposable battery. These batteries can also be used, for example, in Fenix E15 XP-G2, E16, E18R, PD25R, LD15R, PD25R, GL06, GL22, HM50R, HM51R, CL09, RC09, PD22 Ultimate Edition lamps.
ATTENTION - do not use in the Fenix E15 (does not apply to E15 XP-G2), PD10, PD12, PD20, PD22 (does not apply to Ultimate Edition) and HL50 models, there is a risk of damage to the electronics!
Due to the length of 35.5 mm, it may not fit older lamp models!

Charging
The battery can be charged:
- Via USB-C connector: Plug the USB cable into the side USB-C connector, the light on the top of the battery lights up red during charging. It lights up blue when fully charged. A completely discharged battery is charged for approx. 2 hours.
- In a lamp or in a headlamp: The battery can also be charged in charging lamps and headlamps. It can thus be used as a spare battery for headlamps HM50R V2.0, HM51R V2.0 and flashlights E18R, LD15R, GL06, GL22.
- In a classic Li-ion battery charger.

Warning
- If possible, do not discharge the battery below 2.5 V.
- Do not short-circuit the battery (do not connect the poles of the cell with a wire).
- Do not throw the battery into fire or water.
- Never insert the battery into the charger upside down (opposite polarities).
- When using the accumulator, pay attention to the safety principles.
- Use only an adequate charger supporting Li-ion batteries.
