Fenix HM50R V2.0 rechargeable headlamp
Fenix HM50R V2.0 rechargeable headlamp
Fenix HM50R V2.0 is the second generation of the popular rechargeable headlamp with an output of up to 700 lumens, a afterglow of 115 meters and a red light. Either Li-ion battery RCR123A ( included in the package ) or disposable battery CR123A (with limited max. output to 130 lumens) can be used for power supply. The RCR123A battery can be recharged via the USB-C connector directly in the headlamp. There is also an indicator diode built into the control button on the side of the headlamp, which shows the battery charge status when pressed. The headlamp is also equipped with a function to extend the endurance. During prolonged use , it gradually reduces the power in small steps to achieve a longer lighting time (see endurance graph).
The all-metal construction ensures high resistance, optimal cooling and is also fully waterproof according to the IP68 standard. The practicality of the headlamp increases the possibility of removing the light from the head holder and using it also as a small pocket flashlight.
All lamp parameters (luminous flux, battery operation time, waterproofing, afterglow and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.
The use
From the factory, there may be a black insulating cap inside the lamp on the battery. Before first use , remove it from the battery.- When the headlamp is turned off, it will turn on to the last used white light mode by holding the button for 0.5 seconds.
- The off-headlight turns on to a red light by pressing the button twice quickly.
- The headlamp is turned off by holding down the button for 0.5 seconds.
Battery charge status indication: After a short press of the button (headlight must be switched off), the LED indicator in the button is activated. If the indicator light is green, the battery is more than 80% charged. Green flashing means 50-80% capacity. If it lights up red, it is charged at 20-50%. Red flashing means that less than 20% of the battery capacity remains. The display works correctly only with rechargeable RCR123A / 16340 batteries.
Charging: Unfold the rubber cover of the charging connector and plug the enclosed cable into the lamp (USB-C connector), plug the other end of the cable into a computer, power bank or USB adapter into the mains or car (not included in the package). The side button lights up red while charging and turns green when fully charged. After charging the light, seal the charging connector again with the rubber cap. Charging a fully discharged battery takes about 1.5 hours. In an emergency, the light can also be used while charging, but only the lowest white mode and red modes will be available.
Low battery warning: If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the headlamp will automatically switch to lower power modes. If the headlamp is already switched to the lowest power mode and the battery is critically discharged, the indicator in the button will start flashing red. However, the headlamp will continue to shine until the battery is completely discharged. Note: the low battery warning is only calibrated to the voltage of rechargeable Li-ion batteries.
Headlamp lock against starting: Loosen the headlamp battery cap by a quarter turn, this will break the electrical contact and the headlamp cannot be switched on. The button can also be locked electronically - with the headlamp off, hold the button down for 3 seconds. After locking, the lamp flashes red. To unlock, hold the button again for 3 seconds.
Warning
- Do not disassemble the sealed parts yourself, this will void the warranty.
- Use only high-quality batteries to avoid damage to the lamp, for example due to leakage of substances from the batteries.
- Remove the batteries from the lamp if it will not be used for a long time or if the battery is already discharged. Otherwise, some low-quality batteries may damage the headlamp.
- If the headlamp flashes, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not light up, it may be for one of the following reasons:
- Batteries are almost empty - replace them.
- The headlight cap is enabled - tighten it.
- The electrical contacts are dirty - clean them with a cloth soaked in alcohol.
Powerful LED Cree XP-G3 S4 (6000 K) and two red Everlight LEDs are used, all with a lifespan of 50,000 hours.
