Fenix ARE-D2 (Li-ion, NiMH) USB charger
Compact two-channel USB charger Fenix ARE-D2 for Li-ion and NiMH / NiCd batteries. When a charged Li-ion battery is inserted, it also functions as a backup source (PowerBank) for charging USB devices (lights, mobile phones, MP3 players and others). Thanks to its compact dimensions, the charger is particularly suitable for traveling. It automatically recognizes the inserted battery type and selects the optimal charging algorithm. The charger is equipped with an LCD display that shows the current battery voltage, the type of batteries being charged and other information. Each charging slot is monitored independently so that batteries of different sizes, capacities and even different chemistries can be charged simultaneously (both Li-Ion and NiMH / NiCd can be charged simultaneously). A charging current of 500 - 1000 - 2000 mA can be selected for each slot. The highest charging current can only be selected when charging one accumulator.
The charger can charge Li-ion batteries of the following types: 26650, 22650, 25500, 21700, 18650, 17670, 18700, 14650, 18500, 18490, 18350, 17500, 14500, 16340, RCR123 and AAA size NiMH batteries. , AA, C. Li-ion 21700 and 20700 batteries with protective electronics can also be charged in the charger.
USB charger parameters
- Two independently monitored charging channels, charging algorithm CC / CV.
- Three levels of charging current - 500 mA, 1000 mA and 2000 mA. The charging current can be selected for each channel separately. For NiMh / NiCd accumulators, the maximum charging current is 1000 mA. It can be charged with a current of 2000 mA using only one slot B.
- For example, the following li-ion batteries can be charged in the charger: 26650, 21700, 18650 li-ion, 14500, 16340, RCR123. High-quality rechargeable pencil and micropencil batteries can also be charged.
- Protection against reverse insertion of batteries, short circuit, overcharge and too deep discharge.
- The weight of the charger is 92 grams.

- The package includes a charger and a USB cable.
Charging accumulators
Plug the charger into the USB. The display lights up. After inserting the batteries, the display shows the battery type and charging status. The button is used to switch the charging current in the order: 1000 mA - 500 mA - 2000 mA. The charging current can be selected during the first 8 seconds of charging (the battery icon on the display flashes).
Charging USB devices (use as a backup USB source)
Insert a charged battery into the charger (in slot B). Plug the USB cable into the output USB connector and connect the charging device. Hold the B button for 2 seconds and this will activate the powerbank function in low current consumption mode (100mA). A further hold activates full current draw. During charging (e.g. mobile phone) USB 5V will appear on the display.
Warning
- Do not charge Li-ion cells that have gone through a state of excessive discharge (below 2V).
- Observe the safety principles when using the charger.
- We recommend using high-quality batteries.
- It is not designed for charging LiFePO4 batteries.
