Prologo SCRATCH EVA women's saddle, 140 mm
Scratch EVA is Prologo's first ergonomic saddle for women.
For years, Prologo has studied the anatomy of the female body in close collaboration with the top UCI Women's World Team and the UCI Women's Continental Team with one ambitious goal: to ensure that every woman can ride like a true champion.
The invaluable collaboration with Marta, who used the prototypes of the new saddle incognito first in training and then in the race, helped Prolog to perfect the model day by day, until the final success: victories at the Amstel Gold Race and Fleche Wallonne by Marta on one of these prototypes!
From these assumptions and victories was born the new Prologo Scratch EVA saddle, an ergonomic saddle with racing DNA made exclusively for women.
Designed to support the performance of World Tour champions and the most demanding female cyclists looking for maximum comfort even on long rides.
Anatomical shape specially designed for the female body
The new Scratch EVA partially reflects the ergonomic T-shape of the Scratch M5 saddle, a unisex multi-discipline saddle that has already excelled at the highest level on the road and off-road, winning two Tour de France, Monuments and several World Cup cross country races in recent years.
However, the anatomical shape of the new Scratch EVA has been redesigned to better fit the female body by moving the "anatomical center" of the saddle 5mm forward.
This solution allows the seat to be moved forward, thus increasing the support surface for the female pelvis, which is wider than the male.
Výsledok? A new saddle that is still high performance but even more comfortable, with compact dimensions (250 mm x 140 mm) that still allow good freedom of movement when pedaling with maximum efficiency in every position, from the most relaxed to the most aggressive.
Variable density padding and center channel
The EVA designation, in addition to the reference to the Italian name of the first woman, also comes from the material of the padding, which is made of EVA foams with variable density according to different areas of the saddle.
In the back where the sit bones rest, the padding is thicker and made of high density foam that can provide the most support.
Conversely, in the center and front, where the soft tissues rest, there is a thinner padding made of low-density foam to minimize pressure peaks.
This difference in thickness and density creates a channel in the center of the saddle with a large, extremely soft bearing surface.
A targeted design choice to adapt and optimize the seat to the female anatomy, eliminating numbness, pain and preventing reduced blood circulation.
Under the center channel, the Scratch EVA also features Prologo's signature active base system: a base with a hole in the middle that further relieves pressure and thus increases pedaling comfort.
The front of the saddle has been widened by about 10mm and angled down to provide a good support surface even in situations like steep climbs where you need to pedal sitting on your nose.
Bases and rails for various needs
Like most Prologo saddles, the Scratch EVA is available in multiple versions to suit different needs.
For more performance-oriented riders looking for a strong and lightweight saddle, there is a version with a Nack (Nano Carbon Fiber) rail composed of carbon fiber, Kevlar and aluminum fiber.
A rail already widely used by Prologo for all top models, which reduces the total weight of the saddle to 183g.
However, for those looking for more comfort, there is a second version with a weight of 232g with a TiroX rail made of light alloy steel, a material with an excellent balance between weight and strength, thanks to which the saddle has less stiffness and excellent vibration absorption.
