With the OSPW RS for Shimano Road groupsets, we are taking OSPW into the future with a distinctly modern and angular design. The updated design brings balance and refinement to the OSPW system, allowing it to seamlessly fit into current design trends for bikes and kits that form a whole that includes the OSPW system. OSPW RS is an expression of where we have been and where we are going – always at the forefront. TIME SHIFT New design: better quality and strength The new design of the OSPW RS is not just a visual update. The cage itself has been reinforced to offer a new level of strength and durability. Starting with the 2022 special edition 3D printed hollow titanium OSPW systems made of titanium nitride (TiN), we continued to explore surface treatments and finishing techniques. In recognition of the popular rainbow “oil slick” finish currently found on various components, we achieved this unique coloration by choosing to use an aluminum oxide coating applied in a PVD or physical vapor deposition process.
