The Silca Nastro Fiore handlebar wrap has a thickness of 2.5 mm, yet thanks to the technologies it is .5 mm in comfort.

By using a laminate of SILCAthane, SILCAlon and 3M Visco-elastic adhesive instead of a single foam extrusion, the tape can be optimized in a whole range of required properties. The resulting tape is softer and more comfortable, has higher wet and dry adhesion, better vibration isolation and 3-5x longer life than other tape materials.

Sticking the tape is just as important as the wrapping itself, that's why Silca developed a "bow tie" with a fully adhesive base - it better covers the back part, and it is also finished with an aluminum end.
The technologies are inspired by running shoes, F1 tires and Silca's own damping research.
