FOX 38 Performance Grip 29" suspension fork, 170 mm
Enduro specialist with big lifts! The biggest innovation in the FOX 2021 models is definitely the brand new Float 38 enduro fork, designed for modern and uncompromising super enduro riding. Could a 2 mm larger inner leg diameter really make such a big difference? FOX says yes. But, of course, it's more than just those 2 millimeters. The new FOX high-travel enduro fork offers travel between 160-180 mm and has one hidden innovation that other forks do not. The internal shape of the fork column is oval, which increases stiffness without adding much weight. So far, only FOX Float 38 forks have this technology.

TECHNOLOGIES:
Float: The lightweight FLOAT air suspension system automatically balances the positive and negative air chambers for increased responsiveness and traction regardless of air pressure setting. Riders can fine-tune the properties of the positive air spring with Volume Air inserts.
Bleeders: The forks have bleed valves in the back of the lower legs, which you can use to equalize the pressure in the fork legs with atmospheric pressure. The different pressure in the fork reduces the sensitivity of the suspension, so you can adjust it by simply pressing the valve with your finger. The pressure in the legs changes mainly at higher temperatures, for example during intensive use in long descents or at high altitudes. For the Performance version, the vent valves must be purchased separately.
Lower Leg Channels: New air-oil channels allow trapped air in the lower legs to pass through the sliding bushings. The second function of the channels is to allow oil from the lower legs to reach the top seals (buffers) and keep them freshly lubricated.
Floating Axle: A new system for the axle prevents the parallelism of the fork legs from being affected by different front hub widths. Perfect alignment reduces friction during suspension, which is thus more efficient and smoother. You can adjust the mechanism on the right leg of the fork exactly for your hub width, and when the axle is retracted, compression of the legs is eliminated.
Lower Leg Arch: The bridge between the lower legs has a new rounded shape, which increased the stiffness of the fork and at the same time created more space between the bridge and the bike frame when the fork is fully compressed.
Oval steerer: The internal shape of the fork column is oval, which increases stiffness with only a minimal increase in overall weight.
