FOX 38 Factory E-Tuned Grip2 29" fork, 170 mm
FOX 38 Factory E-Tuned Grip2 29" fork
The label " Factory " says it all. The best technologies that FOX can offer are available in the Factory Series models, including the ultra-durable original Kashima Coat surface treatment, which ensures smooth running of the fork. The FOX company has also prepared a special version of the Float 38 E-Tuned fork designed for demanding use on Enduro e-bikes. FOX 38 E-Tuned forks have the same foundation as standard forks, just with custom damping and air spring settings for slightly different ways of riding e-bikes compared to standard MTB bikes. For example, e-bikes allow riders to tackle technical undulating terrain with greater ease than is possible on a standard MTB. In order to take advantage of the assistance provided by the engine in this type of riding, the rider must constantly press the pedals. It's hard to maintain traction when pedaling on rough terrain. That's why the E-Tuned forks feature a custom compression setting that helps keep the wheels glued to the ground at all times, maintaining traction and forward motion.
GRIP 2 Damping: FOX has taken GRIP2 damping to the next level by adding patented VVC technology to the high-speed compression circuit. VVC is a patented variable valve control system that enables external fine-tuning of suspension performance. The GRIP2 accomplishes what would normally require the time-consuming and complicated task of completely disassembling and reassembling the fork with the turn of a control wheel. Allows adjustment of high and low speed compression and high and low speed rebound.
Float: The lightweight FLOAT air suspension system automatically balances the positive and negative air chambers for increased responsiveness and traction regardless of air pressure setting. Riders can fine-tune the properties of the positive air spring with Volume Air inserts.
Bleeders: The forks have bleed valves in the back of the lower legs, which you can use to equalize the pressure in the fork legs with atmospheric pressure. The different pressure in the fork reduces the sensitivity of the suspension, so you can adjust it by simply pressing the valve with your finger. The pressure in the legs changes mainly at higher temperatures, e.g. during intensive use on long descents or at high altitudes.
Lower Leg Channels: New air-oil channels allow trapped air in the lower legs to pass through the sliding bushings. The second function of the channels is to allow oil from the lower legs to reach the upper seals (buffers) and keep them freshly lubricated.
Floating Axle: A new system for the axle prevents the parallelism of the fork legs from being affected by different front hub widths. Perfect alignment reduces friction during suspension, which is thus more efficient and smoother. You can adjust the mechanism on the right leg of the fork exactly for your hub width, and when retracting the axle, compression of the legs is eliminated.
Lower Leg Arch: The bridge between the lower legs has a new rounded shape, which has increased the stiffness of the fork and at the same time created more space between the bridge and the bike frame when the fork is fully compressed.
Oval steerer: The internal shape of the fork column is oval, which increases stiffness with only a minimal increase in overall weight.
