FOX 34 SL Factory GripX 29" suspension fork, 130 mm
DOWNCOUNTRY READY. The 34 SL brings unprecedented capabilities to a full-fledged XC fork with up to 130mm of travel. Designed for the most technical World Cup XC courses and demanding downcountry descents, it adds more stiffness, flexibility, and absolutely minimal weight gain over the previous 34 Step-Cast fork. The 34 SL fork uses the full-size 34 (non-Step-Cast) design with a larger volume air spring that allows for up to 130mm of travel if you need it or want it. All this at a weight that made sense for both World Cup XC riders and weekend amateur racers.
- The new 34 SL arch, created and optimized by FOX engineers, wraps around the lower section and increases the fork's torsional rigidity by 17% compared to the previous 34 SC model.
- Cutouts at strategic points in the arch help minimize the weight of the lower parts.
- In addition to the arch, the overall torsional rigidity is also contributed by the cleverly designed 7000 series aluminum crown with larger internal relief holes and a black anodized finish (lighter than paint) that further reduces weight.
- The 34 SL increases the overlap of the inner bushings by 20% compared to the 34 SC, making the fork smoother overall.
- Bypass channels help limit pressure surges to increase sensitivity to small irregularities, as well as recirculate oil to lubricate bushings and seals.
- By moving the bypass channels from the rear of the fork to the inner side, they are now located outside the front-rear load path, further reducing dynamic friction throughout the fork's entire stroke.
