The new FOX X Air air shock provides excellent adjustability at a low weight to meet the demands of trail riders, combining sophisticated damping and uncompromised performance in a lightweight design with excellent structural integrity.The new FOX X Air shock does not actually replace the DPX2. Instead of thinking of it that way, think of it as a scaled down and lightweight version of the Float X2 with a feature set aimed squarely at the trail (not enduro) category.
The FOX X Air 2022 shock features a large piston and large air volume for a wider range of tuneability on different frames. This larger piston size means less air pressure is needed to achieve the same spring force - reducing average pressure by 40 PSI over the DPX2. It is far more adjustable than the DPX2, with the volume of the air chamber being adjustable in steps of 0.1.
In addition to the possibility of adjusting the volume of the chamber, it also has numerous options for adjusting the external damping, which will make a wide range of riders happy. It has a numbered LSC (Low Speed Compression) adjustment screw and gains more rebound adjustment clicks (11) compared to the DPX2. There is also an independent fixed mode (lockout) circuit, controlled by a 2-position stick.
