Lapierre Spicy CF 6.9 29 bike

The new Spicy CF can be summarized as follows:
  • 1 frame - 2 possibilities of use: Enduro race or bike park
  • 2 kinematics: High Pivot (HP) or Low Pivot (LP)
  • 4 configurations: HP or LP, 29” or Mullet
Why two different positions of the rear structure?
The mounting position of the rear structure affects the kinematics and trajectory of the rear wheel during compression. At the same impact, the rear wheel in the High Pivot position moves backwards, so it 'hits' the obstacle less.
In the Low Pivot position, the rear triangle moves less rearward.

High Pivot position

  • Improved stability
  • Downhill oriented suspension
  • Optimized for Enduro races with a greater proportion of downhill sections
Effect on suspension
  • Minimizes suspension drop during acceleration
  • It provides more stability when braking

Low Pivot position

  • Improved dynamics
  • Universal suspension
  • Optimized for Enduro races with a greater proportion of pedaling
Effect on suspension
  • Greater pedaling efficiency
  • Suspension that works freely when braking and is more comfortable when braking

Geometry

The geometry of the new Spicy CF has evolved significantly compared to the previous generation, mainly in four key areas:
  • Seat Tube Angle – As with all recent models, the seat angle has been straightened to 78°, which moves the rider's center of gravity forward and improves the position for pedaling uphill.
  • Reach – The usual consequence of a steeper seat angle is a shorter top tube, which is partially offset by a longer reach to maintain good weight distribution. It is also advantageous for stability and ease at high speeds.
  • Head tube angle – this follows the development of the front wheel lift (+10 mm) with a more open angle that adapts to the 180 mm fork. This request also came from the riders of the Lapierre Zipp Collective team, who were looking for more stability and precision for fast corners and steep descents.
  • Center height – the goal was to find the right balance between the lowest possible ground clearance for pure performance and the need of an enduro mountain bike to avoid contact with the ground, depending on the roughness of the terrain. In the end, it is only 3 mm higher, but the extra lift makes up for it.
The feeling of lightness is not only a matter of weight, but is largely dictated by the arrangement of the carbon fibers and the Gravity Logic Project (GLP) concept. The shock absorber is now located even lower and in the middle of the bike, increasing the feeling of neutrality and balance, especially during jumps. An integrated tool box (with protective kit) in the lower part of the down tube reinforces the GLP concept with a low center of gravity.

All bicycles at the MTBIKER shop are new, not-ridden, from an official distributor and with a full warranty. Several brands even offer a lifetime warranty on the frame after registration. We perform all warranty services in MTBIKER stores after personal delivery or after sending the bike (or its part) by courier.

Our bike shipment is as follows:
  1. The bicycle is taken out of the manufacturer's box
  2. The bicycle is assembled, inspected and adjusted (front and rear derailleur, shock, fork, wheels,...)
  3. The bicycle is carefully packed back into a box and shipped
  4. If you order a bicycle for in store pick up or home delivery, the bicycle will be waiting put together, checked and ready to use for you.
  5. If you order a bicycle via courier to your home address, the following must be done at home:
    1. Take the bike out of the box and carefully remove safety material and foils
    2. Mount handlebar to stem (1 minute, 4 or 5 mm hex hey is needed).
    3. Mount front wheel to fork (1 minute, without the need of any tools if the bike has a quick release).
    4. Loosen the screws in the headset, straighten the stem with the front wheel, tighten the upper screw on the fork and then tighten the headset (2 minutes, 4 or 5 mm hex key is needed).
    5. Mount the pedals to the cranks while lubricating the thread and carefully mounting it the right way (1 minute, 8 mm hex key or 15 mm wrench).
    6. Mount seatpost to frame (10 seconds, without needing any tools if the frame has a quick link).
    7. Inflate the tyres or fork and shock to desired pressure (2 minutes, pump needed).
    8. Check the tightening of hex keys and quick-releases (2 minutes, 4 and 5 mm hex key is needed).
    9. Go for a test drive! Handle your bicycle carefully until you get used to it. If the bike has disc brakes, their performance will be limited from now on - they will gain their full power after 4-5 strong brakes at higher speed.
