Top mountain bike with F-Si Ballistec Carbon frame, brand new Lefty Ocho suspension fork, 29" braided wheels and Sram NX Eagle 12s set.
The Cannondale F-SI Carbon 4 is currently one of the best and fastest racing hardtails on the market. The manufacturer tuned the bike down to the last detail with an emphasis on the best possible function of the whole. For Cannondale, a mountain bike is not just a collection of interconnected components. It is a sophisticated system that must work in harmony with each other so that behind its handlebars you can achieve the best performance not only on racing tracks.
The F-SI Ballistec Carbon carbon frame is incredibly stiff and at the same time very light, and in combination with the brand new Lefty Ocho front fork, it can handle much more off-road than you would expect from a racing Hardtail of this category. Thanks to the geometry with a short rear structure, a more relaxed head angle and a large offset of the fork axis, nothing will stop you on the racing tracks. The frame, together with the fork, is mounted on rigid 29" wheels with wide rims, precise shifting is ensured by Sram NX Eagle components with 1x12 speeds.
FRAME
The F-SI Ballistec Carbon carbon frame is made of light and at the same time very strong carbon fibers, which allow you to tune the overall driving characteristics down to the smallest details. Compared to its predecessor, it is a full 80 grams lighter, and with a total weight of 900 grams, it is the lightest frame Cannondale has ever produced. Extreme rigidity while maintaining only a very low weight and maximum driving comfort, that's what it's all about!
The key point of the entire frame is the rear structure with the so-called asymmetrical integration of the drive. Thanks to the displacement of the drive train by six millimeters to the right, the rear structure has been significantly shortened, and thus also a significant improvement in the bike's handling both on and off-road. At the same time, this solution made it possible to maintain sufficient passability for the use of wide casings and sets with two converters. Shifting the drivetrain made it possible to create a more uniform rear string for even more stiffness when sprinting and cornering.
Sufficient comfort is guaranteed by the sophisticated Save Micro Suspension system, which uses directionally optimized weaving of carbon fibers and enables controlled front-back movement of the seat tube of the frame. The seat tube and with it the entire rear frame triangle work in a vertical direction and effectively dampen vibrations and other small impacts. The result is not only better traction and higher speed, but above all a noticeable reduction in rider fatigue even on really long tracks.
A new feature is the Speed Release axle for faster and easier rear wheel replacement. The special shape of the feet makes it possible to leave the axle in the hub and remove the wheel just as easily as in the case of a classic quick release. The Speed Release axle is compatible with 148x12 millimeter cartridges.
FORK
The frame is completed by the brand new Cannondale Lefty Ocho front fork, which stands out for its stiffness, low weight and precise driving performance in all circumstances. All this while maintaining uncompromising steering transmission, which is unparalleled in the category of cross-country forks. With a lift of 100 mm and the possibility of remote locking, it will serve great not only on racing circuits, but also on your favorite trails or anywhere else. The pronounced forward offset of the fork axis together with the lower head angle creates the so-called OutFront geometry, which provides enough stability on descents and which does not lose any of its famous agility on climbs.
GEOMETRY
The geometry of the new F-SI is defined by a very short rear structure, a significantly offset front fork axis and, last but not least, a noticeably lower head angle. Such geometry will provide enough stability even on the most demanding descents, it will surprise you with perfect traction in all aspects on exits, and at the same time it will not lack that playfulness and agility that puts a smile on your face in the terrain. Extending the reach and stack values contributes to greater comfort behind the handlebars.
EQUIPMENT
A twelve- speed Sram NX Eagle set equipped with a cassette with a range of 10-50 teeth ensures quick and, above all, precise gear changes. Truvativ Stylo cranksets with one gear and 34 teeth also come from the offer of the Sram concern. Brake power is managed by Shimano MT500 hydraulic disc brakes with discs with a diameter of 160 millimeters on the front and rear wheels. 29" braided wheels built on aluminum rims with an internal width of 23 millimeters complement fast 2.25" wide Schwalbe tires. Maneuverability is aided by Cannondale's wide handlebars, the Fabric Scoop saddle with steel rails guarantees comfort.
