When Castelli created the first aero jersey for competitive road cycling in 2006, everyone thought they were crazy, including some pro riders. Aerodynamics was then only for a time trial. The functionality of the clothing meant moisture wicking, and the Tour de France could be won in a loose jersey, which was basically a polyester T-shirt with pockets on the back. Even Castelli's aerodynamics consultants expected minimal, if any, advantage, so they named the jersey Split Second. The advantages of the jersey were finally quite significant and Castelli managed to start a revolution in the appearance of the professional peloton. The jersey is already in its seventh generation and they have managed to improve it every time. When placing the material and seams, the manufacturer still relies mainly on CFD analysis of the airflow in the riding position and, together with feedback from the riders, can create a jersey that is not only fast, but also comfortable on long rides. And when you need to maximize your aerodynamic advantage, just wear the Bolero SS under your jersey.

Castelli is a classic Italian brand known for its high-quality cycling apparel. They have been on the market since 1876, and they started with clothing for famous Italian football teams. In 1910, their first cycling clothing was made for the world champion Alfredo Binda. They introduced to marked their aerodynamic elastic bibs made from Lycra in 1977. Their list of groundbreaking innovations is very long, and it probably is also a reason why are they so famous. Castelli offers top apparel for all conditions and every bike discipline.
