Silicone-coated elastic material around the third to improve aerodynamics.
Lycra cuff with grooves helps separate air from the leg.
Polyurethane tape on top holds the sleeve in place.

Castelli project – fast feet, brings aero sleeves for all conditions. Time trial sleeves are designed for maximum aerodynamics, within the UCI technical limits. Developed using CDF analysis, lots of fabric samples and wind tunnel testing. The elastic, smooth silicone-coated lower part perfectly hugs the shape of the sneaker, while the grooved cuff helps to separate the air flowing around the foot. The sleeves are high to cover the leg up to the calf. We see no reason why you can't have them during a road race as well, but they maximize your performance especially during a time trial.
