The bright blue tube under the Podium® cap is the Vent Tube. This is the secret of the high water flow when you turn the bottle upside down to drink. The vent tube allows air to enter, which replaces the water that flows smoothly out of the bottle.
The construction is durable enough to withstand the scratches that are inevitable when in contact with the basket. Both Podium Steel and Titanium will likely eventually show some wear that does not affect the function of the bottle.
Camelbak bottle tops are compatible with each other. Podium bottles can be transformed into a stylish water bottle for everyday use by purchasing a Chute Mag or Carry Cap. With the Hot Cap lid, you can turn it into a mug for coffee or tea.
