Yakima HIGHROAD roof bike rack
The Yakima HighRoad roof bike rack uses a front wheel mount. The bicycle does not need to be adjusted or otherwise prepared for transport. It is enough to simply insert it into the holder and then conveniently secure it using the safety elements.
By only touching the front tire, the HighRoad allows you to transport bikes with different frame shapes, bikes with specific equipment (shock absorbers, brake discs, ...), as well as bikes of different types and sizes (children's, adults, folding, ...). The latest Yakima Highroad model with an updated length of 1320 mm now also has long wheelbase bikes in mind.
The car carrier mounts very quickly and is compatible with all types of roof racks. You can secure both the carrier and the bikes against theft by locking them (locks are part of the package).
If you transport multiple bikes, you will certainly appreciate that the "double-sided" design allows you to mount the bike on both the left and right sides without the need for major adjustments to the carrier (the rear part can be easily and quickly rotated to the right/left side as needed).
The bicycle itself is secured using a cable with a lock that is wrapped around the bicycle frame.
The Yakima HighRoad carrier's construction is very sturdy and has an attractive black finish.
Procedure for putting on the bike:
We raise/fold out the front arched arm of the carrier.
We put the bike in the prepared arm - with the front wheel.
Then we lift the rear arm (taking care not to block the pedals). The bike remains standing on its own.
We fix the lower arm by tightening it using a large paste screw.
We attach the rear wheel by tightening the safety plastic strap in the adjustable holder.
We lock the bicycle frame using a cable with a lock.
Attaching a bike carrier to roof racks
Fixation of the cyclone carrier to the basic carriers is ensured by an adjustable plastic strap with steel reinforcement, which adapts to the shape of the carrier. This method ensures that you can attach the bike carrier to any width of carrier (with or without T-bar). After attaching the carrier to the roof rack, you can secure it by locking it.
Rear bike wheel mount
You can secure the rear wheel of your bicycle to the adjustable holder using a sufficiently long strap.
Security
You can secure the bike on the rack using a cable with a lock.
Single key system: you use the same key to lock the bike rack to the racks and the bike to the bike rack.
